DAY 4: a celebration?
POP! FIZZZ! BANG! BANG! SSPPPZZ! BANG BANG!
The mayor jumped out of bed and ran to her window in alarm. Red, green, blue and orange lit up the sky. Fireworks? What the heck? As far as she knew March 26th was NOT a holiday, not in Sooty, not anywhere, and yet she couldn’t help but enjoy them.
The mayor put on her bathrobe, made a bowl of steamy hot oatmeal, and decided to sit out on her front porch and enjoy the display. This wasn’t the first time someone in Sooty got creative celebrating a birthday or anniversary, and she was happy to be a partial recipient of such a great gift. With such horrible events happening in town of late, it was nice to be able to take a break and actually smile again.
Eventually the fireworks were over and the mayor got dressed. On her way to work she decided she would stop by the center of town and make sure the entertainers had cleaned up after themselves. She was surprised to see all the townspeople there, huddled around something, and whispering amongst themselves. Once they spotted her, the town slowly stepped aside to reveal Jason’s lifeless body. The mafia had used his body as the platform for lighting off those hundreds of fireworks, and the entire town had enjoyed the show. Her husband, a not-so-under-cover detective, was dead. The mayor fainted again. (At least he went out with a BANG!)
It is now DAY. You have until Thursday at midnight to root out the mafia. We NEED a majority! I want to remind y’all not to discuss it unless on the blog (unless you’re dead, of course).

I don't think that the mayor would make husband and wife both mafia. Which I think rules out Jake, It would be too easy. And in one of Deena's post she said that she was too busy with school work to comment so I don't think that it is her. I am interested in maybe what Heather is??? But I am willing to sacrifice my loving relationship with my little sis. and .....

I must have caught it from Grandma before we left, because last night, I got sick. I go to the doctor tomorrow morning. As the oldest surviving citizen, I want to leave you my wisdom and knowledge, Sarah is Mafia, I know it. Jason thought too, so lets do homage to his memory and vote for Sarah.

I think it important that I clear up how the roles are chosen. I didn't pick who is who in this game, I put everyone's name into a list on www.random.org and it randomized them. I then used the first 3 people as mafia, the next 2 were detectives, and the 6th name was the doctor. It doesn't have anything to do with who you live with or who your brother or sister or cousin or aunt or uncle is--it's fair and everyone is a suspect, regardless of living conditions. I hope that helps.

I still think Aunt Shirley has something to do with the Mafia but will hold off voting until we reach more of a consensus. Since we are now without Jason we are really going to have to work to find the mafia

btw, i called grandma to ask her how she was doing, and apparantly she's getting a lot better... she didn't want to go to the doctor, but grandpa made her, good thing... i think if anyone wanted to give her a call to ask how she's doing, it might cheer her up...

I am not even going to try and plead my case since for some reason you all already think I am guilty. It's okay, I am willing to sacrifice, better to kill someone than no one like we did last time. But I am going to question Jay's logic: I understand that Hillary, Charlie, and Jay were "cleared" by Jason, but how do the comments made by Angela, Heather, and Eric clear them? First Angela voted for Jay, then changed to Shirley, then over to Kari (just following the crowd to appear innocent?). Heather first voted for Jason (as did I) then switched over to Kari, as did most people. Also, Shirley never voted for Kari (my little girl-blah,blah,blah). Anyway just wanted to throw in my two cents, since it seems I may not be around much longer.

i cleared angela because, well, she wasn't just following the crowd... jason was the first to vote for kari, i was the second, and she was the third... at the time she votes, we weren't all that close to consensus... i think it's pretty clear that angela isn't mafia... about heather, well, she was next, and you sarah, voted VERY LAST... talk about following the crowd... now, that doesn't make you guilty, but in my book, the earlier you vote for a mafia person, the more likely you are to be innocent...

Yes, there is one more detective, one doctor, and two mafia still alive. I don't think it's in anyone's best interest to reveal themselves, as that is almost always a guarantee of death. Jason appeared to just be lucky for one night.

Thank you and I agree that the detective probably shouldn't reveal themselves. We need all the help we can get. But one question. Did the two detectives knew each other and have to decide together who to ask about or could they each ask about a player?
I'm hoping the detective can start to lay hints for us. I really hate voting for someone blindly. But I guess the mafia would probably pick up on the hints just as well as the townies do.
I think maybe we should start killing off the people who aren't posting just because they don't seem interested and therefore aren't really helping us either. If some of them would've posted last time, maybe we would've been able to actually get a lynching on our turn.
Sorry, Sarah, your posting did sound a little innocent, however, so did Kari's posting leading up to her death. If you are innocent, I appologize. But I am starting to suspect Heather, as you suggested.
I have to vote for Hillary. It is not very often that you can choose to have your spouse die and not be in trouble for it. I know that she is not guilty; I just want to do it.

Good news, I went to the doctor this morning and I don't have the flu, just a cold! I still awful though.
i can see the points about heather, but i really think that it's in everybody's best interests to get sarah... we're only two votes away from getting her... and charlie, why won't you just go with the majority and vote for sarah!?!? if we end up being one vote short, it'll be your fault because you voted for your wife, who was cleared by jason the same way you were...
also, shirley, i'm glad you don't have what grandma has... it's not a great thing to get ;)

i just got off the phone with grandma, and she says that she her health has improved immensely... the drug she's taking for it is really helping, and grandpa's taking half of what she is so he can stay immune... she'll get a flu shot next year hopefully... she would appreciate it if you gave her a phone call; if you don't want to look up her number, it's (801) 544-8245
